Patty Ellen Scott

Patty Ellen (Beloat) Scott went home peacefully on October 17, 2026. Patty was born into a large and loving family in Kenova, West Virginia on April 21, 1938 to John and Mattie Beloat. As a child, Patty had a penchant for performance, often using her vocal talents to sing at church and county fairs, and was a member of the Ceredo-Kenova High School Glee Club.

During a pickup game of neighborhood football, Patty met the love of her life, Everette Scott, Jr. They married on February, 15, 1958, in Columbus, Ohio. Together they raised two daughters, Vicki Lynn and Suvonna Suzanne (Suzie).

Later in life, Patty and Everette went from “Mom and Dad” to being affectionately known as “Nana and Papa” with the births of their grandchildren. Nana was known to be simultaneously well-meaning and opinionated. Quick to offer her thoughts on, well, everything, “Nana Quotes” are often repeated at family functions, and will continue to be in the years to come.

Patty and Everette retired to their summer home in Port Charlotte, Florida, where they lived for the next twenty-one years. During these years, they were members of the Englewood United Methodist Church, and served as volunteer chaplains at Faucette-Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte. In 2005, Patty and Everette relocated to Oklahoma to be close to their daughters and their families, where they enjoyed their final years together.

Patty’s family would like to extend a special ‘thank you’ to the many caregivers at the Regency Skilled Nursing & Therapy facility. Their love and support were evident, and Patty loved those who cared for her like they were her own kids and grandkids.

Preceding her in death are her parents, John and Mattie; three sisters and four brothers; loving husband Everette; and son-in-law Randy Ernstsen.

She leaves behind daughters Vicki of Shawnee, Oklahoma and Suzie of Porter, Oklahoma, precious grand-dog Jack, five granddaughters and one grandson, and many great-grandchildren, who will all surely share stories of their ornery and memorable Nana.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 6, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Calvary Cemetery in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
