Nina Willadean Austin

Nina Willadean Austin, resident of Shawnee, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2026. She was 91 years old. Willadean was born on December 6, 1934 in Roff, Oklahoma to Eli and Iva Pearl Summers. At Kendrick High School she played basketball and softball. She grew up on a farm and had fond memories of going out to the pasture with her brother Delmer to catch one of the mules to ride.

She married Doyle D. Austin on December 6, 1957 in Shawnee, OK. He passed away just shy of their 60th wedding anniversary. Willadean and Doyle rode motorcycles and were part of The Old Santa Fe Riders motorcycle club. They enjoyed traveling and worked for many years at their business, Doyle Austin and Sons Construction Co. Willadean and Doyle also enjoyed being part of the Shawnee Square 8’s square dancing group.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Doyle Austin; son, Michael Austin; great-grandson, Michael Roy Austin; and 14 siblings.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Randy Austin and wife Anita and Russell Austin and wife Pamela; daughter, Delta Foor; daughter-in-law, Debra Austin; nine grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; brother, Delmer Summers; numerous nieces and nephews.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Riley-Walker Funeral Service on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm with family present to greet friends from 5-7pm. A funeral ceremony for Willadean will be held at the funeral home chapel on Thursday, October 1, 2026 at 2:00 pm. Following the ceremony, she will be laid to rest next to her husband at Fairview Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be: Randy Austin, Jayme Austin, Jordan Austin, Russell E. Austin, Kasey Austin, and Caleb Troxell.

Honorary Casketbearers will be: Keegan Plumley, Bryce Roll, Michael Dickinson, and Dallas Covel.
