Jamie J. Yoder

Yoder, Jamie J. age 91, was born in Grenada, Mississippi to Gaddis Elmer and Sally Laurena Dyson. She was the 4th and only survivor of 8 children having had three brothers, four sisters, a loving husband, in-laws; four sisters-in-laws (spouses) several nephews and nieces (spouses), and dear friends.

Jamie is survived by her daughter Janet and husband Rick; son Conan Yoder, four grandchildren: Andrea and husband Joe, Brad and wife Melanie, Caleb, and Alex; 7 great-grandchildren: Joey, Byrson, Kortnee; Kamryn, Italy, Maddison, and Malachi. Several nieces and nephews whom she loved and cherished.

She loved singing Old Gospel hymns at family reunions. Additionally, she taught Sunday School to several young people at Oak Park Church of GOD. Her cooking talents served many students at Jefferson-Shawnee Public Schools and COJAC as well as numerous family gatherings, etc. She served on the South Rock Creek school board for several years, was a member-officer of the Tecumseh American Legion for many years, and a Good Sam's Club member where they traveled with many friends.

She will be greatly missed and remembered for her strength, generosity, loyalty, advice, understanding, encouragement, comfort, unwavering love for her friends, as well as her fabulous chicken & dumplings.

Friends and loved ones may pay their respects at the funeral home on Sunday, August 23, 2026 from 1-5pm. A celebration of Jamie's life will be held at 10am, Monday, August, 24, 2026 in the visitation room at Riley-Walker Funeral Service & Crematory with Ken Kerbo officiating. Jamie will be laid to rest privately next to her husband Walter at Fairview Cemetery in Shawnee.
